This report was designed for proposal as a community action plan for substance abuse care in Travis County. Designed for Austin Travis County Integral Care and Woollard Nichols and Associates the full report can be viewed here. 

This book highlights seven cities traveled on a design focused trip through Germany. The book correlates each city with an overarching theme of the trip showcasing one design project by the design studio Strichpunkt while each chapter is also paired with a “tip” given by Kirsten Dietz in her Typo Berlin talk from 2012.

The objective of this project was to select a book and story of which I was familiar and redesign it to visually reflect the story. I photocopied every page and separated the chapters. Chapters written from the perspective of the Black help were reavealed in the negative on black printed pages with white type, while chapters told by the White employers remained as white pages with black type. As you read into the book the black pages and white chapters overlap as the actual pages are trimmed longer and grow closer together until they become intertwined in the end.
